Responsibilities
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Civil Estimator to join our Toowoomba team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for civil engineering and infrastructure projects, including roads, earthworks, drainage, rail and renewables and other public or private construction works.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead and undertake the preparation of commercial tenders in the civil and rail sectors,
- Review and analyse tender documentation to assess project scope, risks, and requirements,
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, methodologies, and programs,
- Oversee the tender process from initial review to final submission,
- Collaborate with project delivery teams to ensure handover of successful bids,
- Assist in developing and maintaining current estimating systems, resources and rate libraries,
- Maintain strong personable and commercial relationships with Clients, Suppliers and Sub-Contractors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Quantity Surveying,
- Minimum of 5 years prior experience in civil estimating.
- Experience using Expert Estimation and Programming software,
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications,
- Complete 1st principal take-off's and measurement and validation of BoQ’s,
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of Dept. Main Roads Contracts and Specifications is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
